Bright Forest Center is an enchanted place of sacred oaks, maples, apples trees and rushing gorge where coyotes howl on full-moon nights, birds sing, honeybees and butterflies pollinate berries. In Bright Forest’s office, Dr. Forest did her most inspired writing, including her books. Bright Forest Center also included a small forest cabin, where Dr. Claire formerly followed her avocation of guiding hundreds of people on individual silent retreats. She also led small group Adirondack wilderness canoe retreats, sleeping under the starry night or in individual tents, joining together for meals, guided mindfulness and mountain pilgrimages.
Recently Dr. Claire, ever conscious of environmental principles, and inspired by a beautiful oak sign Quiet Trees at Work carved by the friend who built that cabin, closed and secured it to protect it and the surrounding forest. While university research and outreach which has long been Dr. Forest’s primary focus, her work was always inspired by her wilderness avocation.
Beginning in 2019, Bright Forest Center’s focus shifts to a vibrant virtual center thriving in the minds and hearts of everyone inspired by Dr. Claire Forest’s books, guidance– a place of healing, inspiration and nurturing from wherever you are! While continuing the university research and outreach which has long been her primary focus, Dr. Forest has replaced her wilderness retreats avocation, with individual transformative life coaching, and special one-day retreats at beautiful La Tourelle Inn and elsewhere when invited.
