Dr. Forest begins by inviting you into a safe, protected space, via phone/email/Skype, or a quiet nook under a colorful stained glass ceiling at The Bistro at La Tourelle in Ithaca NY.
After creating a sacred listening atmosphere, she gives her full attention. She’ll ask one crucial question, and listen deeply to your response. People are often surprised by her ability to cut through external and internal “chatter†to the heart of the matter, moved by the unaccustomed gift of someone finally understanding and offering a path forward. This initial question is a catalyst to help you unmask your habits, restore your mislaid purpose, embark on a renewed quest.
Dr. Forest encourages you to embrace your own cultural heritage. Dr. Forest’s approach is inspired by nature, her ancestral Celtic heritage, Cornell University PhD (focus: transformative learning), flourishing ongoing university research and outreach career, and earlier mindfulness training with Thich Nhat Hanh, Pir Vilayat Inayat Kahn, and retreat guide training with Aziza Scott (including 21 day silent retreat).Â
“Dr. Claire†begins where you are, deftly guiding you through each step, spiraling back if needed. Once you make the commitment to work with her, you’ll pay more attention to your inspirations, and discover how to find time and other resources for what’s really important. She’ll invite you to “unplug†from your usual habits, for one hour daily, living fully each moment, redirecting this newfound time, to recreating your life. Our weekly individual sessions begin with what’s uppermost in your mind and heart, recognizing and build on the strengths of your own unique body, mind and spirit.
